Privacy Policy
USA Dog Grooming is built to be useful without collecting much of anything. Here is exactly what we do and do not know about you, and where the business information on the site comes from.
The short version
You can browse every listing on USA Dog Grooming without an account, and browsing collects nothing beyond anonymous usage analytics. If you create an account to claim or add a business, we store your email address, the profile details you choose to give us, and what you submit about your business. We never sell personal information.
Business listing data
The directory is built from publicly available business information: names, addresses, phone numbers, websites, opening hours, categories, ratings and review counts, attributes, and photos that businesses have made public. Ratings and review counts are shown as a snapshot with the date they were captured; we do not copy review text.
Because this is information businesses publish to attract customers, we display it without asking first, the same way maps and directories do. If you run a listed business, you can claim the listing for free and edit or remove any detail, including photos. If you would rather not be listed at all, send a removal request through the contact form and we will remove the listing.
For some businesses we also hold contact details found on the business's own public website, such as a general email address or social media links. Social links may be shown on the listing. Email addresses are never displayed publicly; they are stored privately and used only to help verify a claim by someone who says they work there.
Accounts
Creating an account requires an email address and a password. Passwords are hashed and never visible to us. You may add a display name and a contact phone number to your profile; both are visible only to you and to the site administrator, never on public pages. This data is stored in our database, hosted by Supabase.
When you claim a business we record which account made the claim, the verification method, your stated role, the email address you told us you would send a document from, any note you wrote, and the outcome. Approved claims link the business to your account and mark the public listing as managed by its owner.
Verifying a business claim
If the business's website is on its own domain, you can verify instantly with a one-time code sent to an email address at that domain. We store only a hashed copy of the code and delete it once it is used.
Otherwise you verify with a document that shows your connection to the business, such as a utility bill for the business address or a business license, sent to us by email. We never call the business or you. These documents are never uploaded to or stored on the website: they stay in our email inbox, are seen only by the site operator, are used for the sole purpose of deciding your claim, and are deleted once the claim is decided.
We ask you to black out account numbers, amounts, dates of birth, and anything else not needed to show the connection, and we never ask for government identification, Social Security numbers, or bank or card details. If an email contains information we did not ask for, we delete it without reviewing it. What you choose to send is your responsibility, so please send only what the claim page asks for.
Listings you manage or add
Details you enter about a business, including hours, services, descriptions, and photos, are public by design: they appear on the listing page and in search engines. Photos are resized and compressed in your browser before upload and stored in our file storage. You can edit or remove them at any time from your dashboard. New listings are reviewed before they go live.
Logging in and cookies
When you log in we set cookies that keep you signed in and one that records when you last visited. You are logged out automatically after 24 hours without a visit. If a login attempt fails, we tell you whether the problem is the email or the password; every attempt is protected by the spam check described below, so this cannot be used to scan for accounts in bulk. Beyond login and analytics, we set no cookies of our own.
Emails
We send transactional email only: account confirmation, password resets, claim verification codes, and updates about your claims and listings. Contact form messages are delivered to us by email with your address as the reply-to. Email is sent through Resend. We do not send marketing email and do not share your address.
Analytics and spam protection
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what devices they use. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally; you can block its cookies and the site works the same. Sign-up, login, claim, submission, and contact forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep bots out. Turnstile analyzes technical signals from your browser and its processing is covered by Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Hosting and third parties
The site runs on Vercel; the database and file storage are provided by Supabase; email by Resend; bot protection by Cloudflare. Each processes data only to provide its service to us. Listings link to business websites, booking pages, social profiles, and Google Maps, none of which we control; their privacy practices apply once you leave.
Your choices
You can update your profile or delete photos and details from your listings at any time from your dashboard. To delete your account entirely, remove a listing, or correct information about a business you do not manage, use the contact form and we will take care of it. If you are in a region that grants specific data rights, such as access, correction, or deletion, the same form is the way to exercise them.
Changes to this policy
If the way we handle data changes, this page will be updated to reflect it. The date below shows the last revision.
